What is Physical Therapy?Physical Therapy is medical treatment for an injury or illness that is focsed on improving function and helping patients live healthier lives. Physical therapy can help improve mobility and overall functional ability, decrease pain, help patients avoid or recover from surgery and much more. Treatment includes an evaluation and treatment sessions based on your needs and condition. Treatment always involves movement and exercise, and can include manual therapy, dry needling, movement analysis, and more.

What to expect during physical therapy?Every session is unique and tailored to your needs, how you are feeling that day, and the progress you are making with your plan of care. Initial Evaluation: Our time to get to know one another and learn about the history of your condition or problem. We will take tests and measures and come up with a diagnosis and plan of action. During this session you may receive education and treatment in addition to the evaluation at no additional charge, though this may vary depending on the complexity of the case. Treatment sessions: Each session is one-on-one and specific to you. These can be at your home, work place, gym (contact for details), or our office (coming soon). During this time we will focus on addressing pain and mobility restrictions, education on your condition and self-management, and most importantly targeted exercise and motor re-training to get you on the road to recovery. Besides movement and exercise some common treatment techniques used include Manual therapy, Instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization, Dry-needling, Electroneedling, Cupping and more.
